Lesotho

Lesotho is an independent country about the size of Belgium. It is completely surrounded by South Africa from where it can be reached with its 12 border posts. To this day, this is a nation steeped in tradition, with the traditional dress, the Basotho hat and woven blanket still seen everywhere. The Basotho are a talented nation of crafts, and the country has justifiably earned its reputation as a producer of the finest wool and mohair. Given the mountainous nature of this spectacular country, it goes without saying that tourism is focused around this natural heritage. With the dramatic and magnificent Maluti Mountains, most people spend a few days pony trekking or hiking.

Seasons: Travel to Lesotho is ideal in summer with temperatures ranging between 18C and 30C. Almost all of the country's rainfall occurs from October to April, while snow occurs in the highlands from May to September. Major thunderstorms are common during the summer in Lesotho.
