Bounded by the Limpopo and Olifants rivers, with the mighty Shingwedzi flowing through its heart and the spectacular vistas of the Lebombo mountains, the park is home to a wide variety of bird- and wildlife. This magnifi cent wilderness area lies adjacent to Kruger National Park and is Moçambique’s contribution to the 3,3million hectare Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park. Explore this undiscovered corner of Southern Africa on one of our wilderness trails or immerse yourself in the tranquility and seclusion of our luxury tented camp.

  • parque Nacional do Limpopo entrance fees (approx R60 per person per entry) . 
  • kruger National Park conservation fees for each day or part thereof (SA - R30 pp per day, Other - R120 pp per day) . Moçambique border fee (SA – R17 per person, Other - see visa fee) . moçambique visa fee, approx R200 (not required for South African citizens) . 
  • items of a personal nature e.g. curios, gratuities, etc . 
  • personal insurance: medical, baggage, cancellation, etc 
Itinerary Details

Facilities:

The Machampane Wilderness Trail offers a 3 night / 4 day experience with daily walking trails in the company of experienced armed game rangers.

Accommodation:

Nestled in riverine forest at the source of the Machampane River, the trails camp caters for only 10 guests. Accommodation is in luxury en-suite tents on raised decks, set into the river bank and overlooking the permanent water below. Brunch and dinner, with a Moçambiquen touch, are served on a deck shaded by the canopy of trees at the river's edge whilst pre-and post-dinner drinks are enjoyed around the campfire in the lapa, under a starlit African sky.

Access:

self-drive from South Africa or Mozambique side (request directions from us)fly into Phalaborwa and transfer to Letaba for collection by Manchampane at 12h00 Note that the border post closes at 15h00

Note:

The camp may be booked on a per night basis with meals. . For a more rugged hiking experience please enquire about the Massingir Hiking Trail. . Regrettably children under the age of 12 may not participate on the trail.
