4 day Amakhala Safari
This safari is a great way to get to know the Eastern Cape and its history, wildlife and culture. It combines insights into three wonderful wildlife reserves - Amakhala - home to a variety of exciting conservation projects, Shamwari - home to the Born Free Foundation - and Addo Natinal Park - provides a home to the largest elephant population in Africa. Activities range from canoeing, hiking, game and night drives, to enjoying a sundowners and diner around a crackling campfire under the African stars.

Day 1: Amakhala Game Reserve
Arrival time: 14h00 Welcome drinks and orientation. 15:00 Mid-afternoon we embark on game drive on Amakhala Game Reserve, which will include the river cruise. Return to the safari lodge for dinner.
Day 2: Addo National Park
Set off on an early game drive into Addo Elephant National Park. This national park is home to the highest density of African Elephants in the world. As Safari Lodge has traversing rights on this National Park, you will be driven around by one of the knowledgeable Safari Lodge rangers in an Amakhala vehicle. A packed picnic breakfast is taken along. Back to the lodge for lunch, a nap or swim.15:00In the afternoon a game drive into another part of Amakhala Game Reserve, which will include the river cruise. Return to the lodge for dinner.
Day 3: Shamwari Game Reserve
Visit to Shamwari Born Free Centre and a Game drive on Amakhala. Return to your Lodge for Lunch. Afternoon Game Drive on Amakhala Game Reserve with Sundowners and canoeing. Return to your Lodge for Dinner
Day 4: Port Elizabeth
Start the day with an early morning guided walk through the Valley Thicket. This is a unique vegetation type only found in the Eastern Cape. Check out at 11h00.

The lodge is secretly hidden in the indigenous bush of the 6000 ha Amakhala Game Reserve. African tribal design inspired the creation of this intimate lodge of wood, reeds and thatch.
