BRIEF DESCRIPTION

The camp lies in the the heart of Mopani veld, 74 km from Phalaborwa Gate. Areas of special interest within the camp include a knarled old Baobab tree Dam lookout point, ladies bar, swimming pool and Tropic of Capricorn loop. Highlights outside of the camp include Pioneer Dam bird hide and Nshawu Pans. Nearest Road: H1-6 Ecozone: L. 

A daily conservation levy is payable. Wild Cardmembers do not pay conservation fees provided that Proof of Identity and Wild Card are presented on arrival.

Accommodation

Four different types of accommodation are available. All the units have been built from natural materials such as rough stone, wood and thatching grass and blend in beautifully with the environment.Xanatseni Guest House 4 twin-bed rooms, large lounge/dining room and kitchen, outside covered bar and veranda area with view of Dam, and braai (barbecue) facilities. One room is adapted for handicapped persons.Family Cottages3 twin-bedded rooms(one with bathroom en suite), two bathrooms, kitchen, Lounge/dining area, large veranda and outside braai (barbecue).Cottages4 beds (one twin-bedded room, 2 bench beds in lounge), two bathrooms, veranda with kitchenette and outside braai (barbecue).Bungalows4 beds (one twin-bedded room, 2 bunk beds in alcove), one bathroom, veranda with kitchenette and outside braai (barbecue). Please specify on your booking form which accommodation type you require.

Facilities

The restaurant is air-conditioned and offers an La Carte Menu with a variety of delicious freshly prepared dishes to choose from. Breakfasts and dinners are served in the restaurant which overlooks the Pioneer Dam where there is abundant waterbird viewing and the abundance of crocodiles and hippos offer much entertainment whilst dining. The adjacent bar area and patio is a perfect spot to relax, unwind and enjoy a refreshing drink whilst viewing the dam. For lighter meals there is the 'Coffee Shop' menu available on the deck, open for breakfasts and lunches as well as snacks. Other facilities include a cafeteria, laundromat, petrol station, picnic area, post box, public telephones, shop and swimming pool.
