4 day Bushman Trail

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

The trail camp is situated in a secluded valley. The landscape is characterised by awe-inspiring granite hills, reminiscent of the Zimbabwean Motobos, which provide splendid views of the surrounding bush where white rhino, elephant and buffalo are frequently encountered. Bushman paintings can be viewed in many of the hill shelters and are a feature of this trail. Kruger's wilderness trails enable adventurous visitors to make close personal contact with nature by traversing large areas of unspoilt wilderness on foot, under the guidance of armed and experienced trail rangers. Groups are limited to eight persons. A daily conservation levy is payable (included in the price range indicated).

Wild Card members do not pay conservation fees provided that Proof of Identity and Wild Card are presented on arrival. We charge a 10% Handling Fee on all Trail bookings. Wilderness Trails are not available between 15 December and 15 January.

Highlights

The Bushman Trail lies in the south-western section of the Kruger National Park, near Berg-en-Dal restcamp

Itinerary Details

Day 1-4

Explore the south-western region on game walks at dusk and dawn, when it is cool, and the game is on the move. A qualified guide and ranger accompanies you. Simple, wholesome meals are provided. The day commences with coffee and rusks in the crisp morning hours. A light meal is enjoyed in the bush and brunch awaits the group when they return at noon. Evening meals comprise either hunters' stew or barbecues, supplemented with salads and vegetables. Upon your return to camp, enjoy supper under the stars while listening to the sounds of the bush, which comes alive at night.

Accommodation

In keeping with the wilderness atmosphere, sites for the trail camps are carefully selected for their scenic beauty and diverse plant and animal life. Groups spend three nights in four rustic two-bed huts. Ablution facilities comprise reed-walled showers and flush toilets. A covered lapa serves as a dining/socialising area where the campfire's flickering shadows encourage stories of adventures in the African bush.
