The Namib Naukluft Park (including Sossusvlei, Sesriem and the NamibRand) covers an area of 49 768 square kilometres. It is the largest and most unusual nature conservation area in Namibia, and rated the fourth largest in the world.

A population of species which is threatened extinction either because of changing environment or predation parameters.   Sadly only a few of the many species at risk are actually listed and obtain legal protection. Many more species become extinct, or potentially will become extinct, without gaining public notice.
