It is recommended that guests stay 7 nights or longer- safaris normally starting and ending on set days. This enables you to explore the Okavango in depth by staying out at one of our mobile flycamps - weather conditions permitting. Otherwise there is a minimum stay of 3 or 4 nights depending on departure days. |

| Horseback Riders will spend 4 to 6 hours a day in the saddle, so riders should be comfortable on a horse and need to feel competent about keeping up with the group. Riders must be capable of riding at all paces; rising to the trot and controlling a horse at the canter. You may also be required to gallop out of trouble so this is not a safari for beginners.
There is a weight limit of 95kg for riders. | Hosts Sarah-Jane Gullick was born in Bristol in the UK. Riding from an early age, Sarah-Jane kept horses and actively partook in hunting and eventing and has always planned to set up horse trails.
After finishing an economics degree at Exeter University, Sarah-Jane headed off to the States where she worked on a Dude ranch in Wyoming and later moved on to Spain to conduct horse trails there before driving overland from London to Cape Town in 1985/6 with the Young Europe Africa Expedition.
Thereafter, Africa has always been home for Sarah-Jane who instantly loved the African Bush and spent 2 seasons working in a well-known bush camp in the Kafue National Park and the South Luangwa National Park both in Zambia.
In 1989 Sarah-Jane left Cybele to fulfill her life time ambition of setting up her own horse safaris and was offered an opportunity to operate out of the Songimvelo, a spectacular reserve on the edge of the South African/ Swaziland border. Equus Trails was, at the time, the first dedicated horseback safari in South Africa.
With this experience behind her Sarah-Jane wanted to move into a " Real Africa" area and decided to move up into the Okavango Delta.
In 1997 Sarah-Jane married Peter Holbrow, and in 2001, Sarah-Jane and Peter had a little baby girl, Zoe. | Facilities There are a variety of horses from Arab crossbreeds to large Hanovarian Thoroughbreds and comfortable English and Western trail saddles.
