| Start: Entebbe Scheduled flights: Entebbe Airport | Day 1 You will be met at the airport and transferred to the Lake Victoria Hotel, Entebbe. Bed and Breakfast. | Day 2 Bwindi National Park After breakfast, you will drive to the west of Uganda, along mountain roads to either BWINDI or Parc National des Volcans, Rwanda gorilla sanctuary - depending on where permits are held. Overnight in en suite chalet/lodge accommodation, all meals included. It will be a fairly long day in the vehicle, passing some interesting scenery, farmland and lush green hillsides. Lunch en route. | Day 3 Bwindi National Park, Kibale Forest National Park An early morning trek into the forest on the slopes of the volcanoes, led by experienced trackers will bring you amongst a family of Mountain Gorillas. These massive primates are extremely rare, only 600 remaining. You will get within metres of the family, and be privileged to spend time amongst them. Returning to the camp for a late lunch, we have an opportunity for forest walks with the guides, or just to relax. Overnight Bwindi or Kabale/ Rwanda / Kisoro. The trekking may be fairly strenuous; up to six hours or longer is not uncommon - at relatively high altitude. Mountain Gorillas are wild animals, and as such sightings cannot be guaranteed, however the success rate is well over 90%. | Day 4 Lake Bunyoni Further trekking opportunity should permits be available , or the option of a forest walk to look for birds and other primates , or just relax in this beautiful area . Later in the day drive to Kabale a small town in the highlands .Overnight hotel - White Horse Inn or Far Out Camp, located on an island in the middle of Lake Bunyoni. Full Board. The road to Kabale takes you into the Uganda Highlands - the Switzerland of Africa - with great views and vistas of this lush green area. | Day 5 & 6 Queen Elizabeth National Park Drive through to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Mweya Lodge / Jacana Lodge. Full board. Mweya Lodge has been recently upgraded and refurbished. Its location, overlooking the Kazinga Channel, offers fantastic views plus there is a swimming pool, restaurant and al fresco breakfast terrace. Within these two days we will go on a boat cruise on the Kasinga Channel, famous for hippos and bird life, and trek chimps in the Chamburu gorge (subject to permits being available and group size). Early morning and late afternoon game viewing / drives will also be conducted in search of Uganda's unique wildlife such as the Giant Forest Hog, Red Forest Buffalo and Ugandan Kob, and lion, elephant and leopard are often seen. | Day 7 Entebbe Morning game drive out of the park. Drive from QENP to Entebbe, where you'll overnight at the luxurious Lake Victoria Hotel. Bed & Breakfast basis. | Day 8 Half-day trip to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Reserve on Lake Victoria, where orphaned chimpanzees have been relocated under the management of a group of dedicated conservationists including the Jane Goodall Institute. (Depending on flights this may be done on day of arrival). Transfer to the airport for your onward flight, or optional add-ons. | End: Entebbe Scheduled flights: Entebbe Airport | Family There is no age limit for this safari, but if you have small children it is recommended that you do a private safari.
