| Covered by evergreen rainforest, home of many orchids species, among which the very demanded vanilla, the east coast is the garden of Madagascar : most of the coffee, the cloves, the bananas and the coconut trees are grown there. Home also to many species of lemurs, endemic frogs, chameleons, geckos… The Betsimisaraka, the local ethnic group are the second largest tribe of Madagascar, and their culture is characteristic regarding their many superstitious beliefs. A short trip to discover Andasibe National Park, the Pangalanes Canal, (a fabulous collection of natural and artificial lakes stretching parallel to the Indian Ocean's coast) and tranquil Island of Sainte Marie. |

| Day 1 Tananarive / Andasibe Antananarivo
Only 3 hours drive from capital Tana, the National Park of Andasibe preserves an extraordinary lush rainforest with 60 groups of the lemurs, including the Indri Indri, the largest in the world. Andasibe also is home to tanrecs (an endemic kind of hedgehog), chameleons (the Parson chameleon, the largest of the island, being the most impressive), many bird species : the blue coua, the Red Fronted coua, Vangas… ). It is also very interesting for the flora : medicinal plants, orchids, water lilies…
Lunch and first walk in the afternoon to discover the Parc. Night "safari" to spot the nocturnal animals. Full board at chosen Hotel. | Day 2 Andasibe / Ankanin'Ny Nofy
Early morning trip in the reserve to listen to the peculiar screams of the Indris; then a 2 hour drive to Manambato situated on the Canal Des Pangalanes. Transfer by a Bushhouse boat (30min) to the Ampitabe Lake where the Guesthouse is hidden in the forest. Full board at the Bushhouse. | Day 3 Ankanin'Ny Nofy
Second day in the "nest of dreams" (so the name Ankanin'Ny nofy means!). In the morning, visit of the Palmarium private parc, where we will see lemurs very closely. Apart from the lemurs, in this 60ha little Eden Parc, we can also see orchids, palm trees, ravinalas (the emblem of Madagascar), endemic frogs, chameleons… In the afternoon, trip to the unspoilt and wild beaches of the Indian Ocean. Full board at Bush House. | Day 4 Ankanin'Ny Nofy / Tamatave
An enchanting 2 hours boat trip on the Canal des Pangalanes till Tamatave. Cruising by boat on the calm waters of Pangalanes is a fascinating journey through time and History : many traditional Betsimisaraka villages can be seen along the banks, as well as pirogues, local fishermen, over-crowded ferries and rafts with straw huts on top carrying timber to Tamatave, as it has been done since early colonial times. Lunch at local restaurant in Tamatave. In the afternoon, visit of Ivoloina Parc. Dinner and night at chosen Hotel. | Day 5 Saint Marie Island
Early transfer to Soanierana Ivongo (3hrs by bus shuttle) where we take a boat (1hr) till Sainte Marie Island. Transfer to chosen Hotel. Day at leisure: you can simply relax on the beach, or take an excursion proposed by Hotel : a boat trip to neighbouring islands of Ilots Sable or Ile aux Nattes, excursion in the inlands of Sainte Marie (its distillery, mangrove and forests), or visit of tiny "capital" of Ambodifotatra and its pirates' cemetery.
