On 15 kilometres of private Zambezi River frontage, Matetsi Game Lodges is located in a 50 000-hectare/124 000-acre wildlife concession in northwestern Zimbabwe, just 40 kilometres upstream/25 miles from Victoria Falls. The concession is unfenced, allowing for the free movement of animals between Botswana's Chobe National Park and Matetsi. Although estimates vary it is thought that between 30 - 50 000 elephants live in this region.

Facilities
The three lodges are located on the banks of the Zambezi River under a canopy of mangosteen and waterberry trees. Each lodge has its own guest area consisting of a covered open-sided thatched sitting area with fireplace. Dinner is enjoyed under the stars on the banks of the River. (There is a covered area should it rain). The central reception and African crafts shop, with a range of African artefacts, basket ware, jewellery and clothing, is available for guests at all three camps.
Accommodation
3 separate, intimate safari camps each with just six air-conditioned suites

Matetsi Water Lodge’s three romantic camps – West Water, North Water and East Water – are set on the riverbank under a canopy of lush, riverine trees. Each camp comprises six private suites with vast teak doors that swing open to plunge pools and decks with magnificent river views.

The layout of each camp ensures privacy and intimacy in an idyllic setting. Open sided, thatched guest areas consist of an elegant dining and sitting area with large fireplace. Delicious Pan-African cuisine is served on the intimate riverside dining decks or in a surprise setting in Matetsi’s pristine wilderness.
Family
Children are welcome. Regretfully, children 5 years and younger cannot participate in the regular game-drives and canoeing activities. Child minders can be booked at an additional cost. Children aged 6 to 11 years are accommodated on game drives at the Lodge Manager's discretion. An extra bed can be arranged for a child sharing its parents' suite. No more than one triple suite in the lodge at any one time.
