Day 1 Sesriem
Departure is from Chameleon Guesthouse and Backpackers at 12h00 noon (a little later in Summer). Driving via Rehoboth and Naukluft we arrive at our camp mid afternoon and have a chance to relax and enjoy the views before taking a short walk to the nearby kopjie for sunset looking over the Naukluft mountain range. Overnight in twin share permanent style tents with en suite facilities and private deck. The camp also has a swimming pool and bar to relax around. Dinner prepared by your guide (D)
Day 2 Sossusvlei, Sesriem
Dawn departure from camp to arrive at the park gate for sunrise, this is only about 3kms away. We drive down an ancient river bed surrounded by towering dunes to the 2x4 parking (around 55kms) and take a 4x4 shuttle into the Sossusvlei area to appreciate the beauty of this place in early morning light and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the region. We explore this unique area on foot before heading into Dead Vlei with its large expanse of bleached cracked clay and skeletal camel thorn trees, contrasting with a backdrop of huge dunes with their ever-changing colours. We can either walk or take the 4x4 shuttle back to our vehicle. As we drive back to our accommodation we will stop at the famous Dune 45 and climb this dune if we wish or just wander around the base. We return to Sesriem and visit the nearby Sesriem Canyon, one of the few permanent water sources before arriving back at our tented camp late afternoon to watch the sunset over this spectacular desert. Overnight in twin share permanent tents as above. Dinner prepared by your guide with assistance from group.
Day 3 Sossusvlei
After a leisurely breakfast we return to Windhoek via Bullsport and Rehoboth. We arrive prior to lunchtime. Overnight in twin share accommodation (subject to availability) at Chameleon Backpackers and Guesthouse. Lunch and dinner at own expense (B)

We depart from Chameleon Backpackers Lodge, Windhoek 8h00am stopping briefly at Otjiwarongo en route for fresh supplies and have lunch at the entrance to the park. We game drive to camp and if time permits game drive before sunset. Overnight camping. Dinner prepared by the guide and camp assistant and evening is spent around the campfire or at the floodlit waterhole, which is popular with many species of game including black rhino, elephant and the occasional lion (seasonal) (LD)
Day 5 Etosha
Early morning and late afternoon game drives looking for the huge herds of zebra, springbok and wildebeest, the elegant giraffe and the predators that follow them. We spend the hottest part of the day at camp either by the waterhole or the swimming pool. We will also visit the Etosha Pan, one translation meaning "Great White Place" and here you can experience the vastness of this pan, witnessing the shimmering white haze disappearing into the distant horizon. Overnight camping. Dinner prepared by guide and camp assistant, evening spent around the campfire or at the floodlit waterhole (BLD)

Guestbook

I really had a good time in Namibia !!
I really enjoyed this trip (beautiful landscape, sunny weather, great meals,...) and i am just waiting another opportunity to go to the very south of Namibia (Fish River Canyon).
Even if I went to this trip alone, i never felt alone! I met a lot of nice young people travelling around namibia!! So I recommended the same trip to 3 friends: The 8-days Namibian Favourites( Sesriem, Sossuvlei, Swakopmund and then Etosha). I believe they will contact you very quickly!! I also recommend them to take a room with air-conditionning at Chameleon Lodge. It was very warm in my room at night ( no way to sleep).
