Environment
The Selinda private wildlife concession straddles the Selinda Spillway which is the only ephemeral waterway linking the Okavango to the Linyanti swamps. The area is rich in game and has the second highest concentration of elephant in Southern Africa. Particularly well known for its hippo-killing lions and healthy wild dog population. The open nature of the floodplains makes this an excellent area for cheetah viewing.

Hosts
Your hosts at Zibalianja are Monika and Chris. They arrived at Zibalianja from Mpumalanga in South Africa. Both have extensive experience in the safari industry. They have guided in the Kruger National Park, East Africa, and Botswana. Monika speaks four languages and worked in the Delta in 2001.

Your guides are Andre Joubert (41yrs) and Motsamai Morundu (23yrs). A career conservationist, Andre has worked in many diverse environments: Namibia's Skeleton Coast; South Africa's Kruger National Park; Botswana's Khama Rhino Sanctuary; Motswari Private Game Reserve, and even a bird observatory in Western Australia! His experience extends from the eco-tourism of safari camps, mobiles & walking safaris to hands-on conservation management. An extrovert by nature, his position as manager & guide at Zib is right up his street.
Motsamai Morundu has grown up in the Okavango area, his home being near Shakawe in the panhandle. Motsamai joined Zibalianja in 1996 as a casual labourer, helping with the construction and development of the camps. His drive and ambition earned him a permanent position as a waiter on the walking safaris. From there he moved to Truck assistant until he passed his heavy duty license and took charge of the truck. All the while he was quietly studying for his professional guides license. He passed the exam at first attempt and was delighted to be offered the guiding position at Zib. His affable nature, sharp eyes and natural bush skills have made him a top notch guide.
