Day 1: Guide will pick you up from the Windhoek International Airport and transport you to Windhoek. Overnight in a bed and breakfast in Windhoek. Evening at leisure. |
Day 2: You depart early on the way to the south via Spreetshoogte pass to arrive on Namib Rand Reserve in the early afternoon. After a short briefing by the hosts you do about an hours walk to the campsite where you will enjoy sundowners and a delicious dinner served under the stars. Overnight Namib Rand under the stars. |
Day 3: After enjoying an early breakfast you start the guided day walk along the red sand dunes. Stopping from time to time in order to study the numerous tracks of tok tokkie beetles, moles and lizards on the dunes and to enjoy the scenery. In the morning all the tracks are very clearly visible on the dunes - they call it reading the newspaper of the desert. Arrive back at the camp in the late afternoon in time to take a quick shower before sundowners and a well-deserved meal. Overnight Namib Rand under the stars. |
Day 4: You wake up in time to see the sun rise over the distant mountains, coffee in bed and then breakfast. You make the short route to Wolwedans where lunch will be served and you could also go on a scenic drive and try to spot some Oryx or springbok. Enjoy a nights rest in the exclusive Wolwedans dune camp. Overnight Wolwedans camp. |
Day 5 & 6: Swakopmund Today you make the way north towards the beautiful coastal town of Swakopmund. Arrive late afternoon. Different activities can be enjoyed like dune boarding or a magnificent quad bike drive amongst the dunes between Swakopmund and Walvis Bay. The dolphin cruise at Walvisbay is also very popular. Activities, dinner and lunch will be for own account. Alternatively spend the day at leisure (maybe some shopping) in this quaint little town. Overnight Swakopmund B/B basis. |
Day 7: After breakfast you make an early start along the coast further north to Henties Bay. If time allows it you will also make a quick visit to Cape Cross to see the thousands of seals. You then continue towards Brandberg west where you will have an introductory talk and slide show on the endangered black rhino. In the afternoon you will have a game drive or a walk in order to try and spot the rhinos or even the desert elephants. Overnight at community campsite near Brandberg. |
Day 8: Damaraland Today you make an early start on the four to five the drive into Damaraland on the journey north to Twyfelfontein. Here you will view the historic Bushmen engravings and paintings. Pick-nick lunch will also be served here. You will arrive at the community campsite in the Palmwag concession area in the afternoon. Overnight Palmwag concession area in community campsite. |
Day 9: You spend the day with early morning and later afternoon game activities in search of the resident game. Good chances to see Black Rhino, the Desert Elephants, Giraffe, Lion and of course Oryx and other antelope. Time at leisure in camp during the heat of the day. Overnight Palmwag Concession area in community campsite. |
Day 10: Etosha You continue on the way to Etosha National Park via Kamanjab and Outjo where you will have your first sight of the outstretched Etosha pan. You will overnight at Okaukuejo where there is a magnificent flood lit water hole that will almost guarantee spectacular sightings of lions, hyena elephants, kudu, rhino and many bird species. Overnight Okaukuejo. |
Day 11: You spend the day driving through the park, visiting many water holes and enjoying the many spectacular animals that can be spotted. Lunch served en route. You will reach the exclusive private campsite at the eastern side of the pans, near the Namutoni gates in the afternoon where you will spend the night. Overnight at private campsite on Easter side of Etosha Pan. |
Day 12: Early morning tee/coffee before you depart on the last game drive into the Etosha National Park. Back in time for a sumptuous brunch before you make the way to Windhhoek via Tsumeb, Otjiwarongo and Okahandja. You will reach Windhoek in the late afternoon where you will spend the last night of the trip on a B/B basis only. Dinner for own account. Overnight Windhoek BB. |
