Day 1 Nxai Pan You will depart Maun early towards Gweta. Lunch en route. Close to Phuduhudu you turn north and enter Nxai National Park. Late afternoon you arrive at your campsite. Shown to tents and time for shower before you enjoy sundowners around the camp fire. Overnight Nxai Pan. |
Day 2 Nxai Pan Early morning game drive before you return to camp at about 11:00 for a delicious brunch. This reserve is home to springbok, gemsbok and zebras. On your afternoon game drive you explore Nxai Pan. This is the only place in Botswana were Impala and Springbok can be spotted together. Time at leisure during the day. Overnight Nxai Pan. |
Day 3 Makgadikgadi Pans After a hearty breakfast you brake down camp. Your route rakes you on an interesting day drive. You stop en route at Kudiakam Pan, famous for its cluster of ancient Boababs, known as Baines Boababs. Arrive late afternoon at your camp site in Makgadigadi Game Reserve. During the rainy season and when there is water in the pans, bird life is abundant. Camp fire dinner. Overnight Makgadigadi. |
Day 4 Maun You spend the morning in search of game and slowly make your way back to Maun - in time for lunch. You spend the night at Sitatunga, Pendukas base camp. Afternoon at leisure. Visit the crocodile farm, relax around the swimming pool or take an optional game flight over the Delta. Overnight Sitatunga(Penduka's Maun Camp). |
Day 5 Okavango You make an early start and drive through traditional villages before entering the South Gate into Moremi Wildlife Reserve. You should see game en route to this reserve. Your game drive takes you on a scenic road through Moremi Xaxanaka Lagoons. Shown to tents. Time to shower before dinner served in dining tent. Camp near Xaxanaka in exclusive wilderness area. |
Day 6 Xakanaxa Early morning coffee or tae, and you set off on a full morning's game drive to return to camp at 11:00 where a delicious brunch awaits you. Time now to shower, rest and relax in camp. After tea you set off on your afternoon game drive through Moremi with its wilderness of rivers and lagoons. Return to camp and relax around the campfire. Dinner served in dining tent. Camp near Xaxanaka in exclusive wilderness area. |
Day 7 Okavango Early morning game drive through Moremi with its magnificent scenery in search of numbers of wildlife resident in this area. Time to relax at camp during the day. Afternoon boating excursion on the Xaxanaka Lagoons takes you down the papyrus-fringed channels of the eastern delta, which are prolific in bird life. Camp near Xaxanaka in exclusive wilderness area. |
Day 8 - 9 Khwai River Having had breakfast you leave Xaxanaka and continue on an interesting riverine route through Moremi to arrive and set up camp within sight of Kwai River at Moremi's morning and afternoon game drives. Leisure time to relax during the day. Camp near Kwai River in exclusive wilderness area. |
Day 10 Savuti An early morning game dive to have one last look at the Kwai, before returning to your camp for breakfast. You leave Moremi and your route takes you on an interesting day's drive northwards to Savuti. You stop en route for lunch. A game drive past the grassy plains of the Mabebe Depression takes to your campsite. Overnight Savuti in exclusive wilderness area. |
Day 11 Savuti Savuti is one of Africa's most densely populated predator areas, and well known for its bull elephants. The Savuti water hole offers and ever-changing spectacle of birds and wildlife. Morning and afternoon game drives with leisure time to relax during the heat of the day. Overnight Savuti in exclusive wilderness area. |
Day 12-13 Chobe National Park Get up early and you enjoy a leisurely breakfast. You break up camp and leave for the Chobe River. You should see the breeding herds of elephant and large herds of buffalo for which this park is famous. In the afternoon a boating excursion on the Chobe River offers a new dimension to game viewing. Overnight: Camp along Chobe floodplains in exclusive wilderness area. |
Day 14 After a leisurely breakfast you pack up and slowly make your way out of Chobe National Park towards the town of Kasane, from here it is time to bid farewell as will arrange a transfer for you either Livingstone or Victoria Falls to a hotel of you choice. Please look at your extension options. A reminder that a US$ 35 is payable at the border post for a single entry visa into Zimbabwe. |
