| Situated in the heart of an 11 500ha wildlife game reserve lying adjacent to the Kruger National Park, Royal Malewane is home to the big five of Africa. Lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes and rhinos are highly rated attractions, as well as over 250 recorded bird species. An expert ranger and master tracker of Royal Malewane, home of the "Big Five", will accompany guests on a game drive to view the natural abundance of big game.
Game viewing is tailored to suit guest's requirements, either in open Land Rovers or on foot. Three daily game drives allow ample opportunity to view wildlife. Breakfast is served after an early morning game drive. An afternoon game drive follows lunch. A night drive in search of exciting nocturnal game is followed by dinner which may be served under the stars or with silver and crystal in the dining areas. At the heart of Royal Malewane is the luxurious main camp complex. African thatched-roof buildings house the reception rooms, dining and service areas. Guests may enjoy a treatment of their choice at the luxurious spa or in the sala, with only nature surrounding them. The chalets rest in harmony with their magnificent surroundings with a rich deck wood terrace, thatched gazebo and spillway pool finding easy residence in nature.
The colonial style of the lodge is especially visible inside the suites, which features a palatial air-conditioned bedroom/sitting room with a fireplace, antique furniture and canopied king-size bed as well as an extravagant bathroom with a window-side Victorian bath and indoor and outdoor showers. The suites luxurious interior appointments draw inspiration from the grand colonial ethos; neo-classical refuge in the raw uncompromising bush.
Elevated walkways link the suites to the main camp.
Stretching out majestically in the shade of Acacia thorn and boasting panoramic views is the Royal Suite and is the largest in Africa at 210 square meters. This ultra luxurious private hideaway accommodates four guests in two en suite rooms, private lounge and dining facilities. Complimentary services include a private butler and chef, masseuse and private game drives. Dining is a grand affair with the very best china, silver and crystal set against crisp white napery.
