Ulusaba boasts some of the finest game viewing throughout the world and is home to the legendary "Big Five". As a guest of Ulusaba Rock Lodge, ample opportunity for viewing game is possible. The Ulusaba Rock Lodge, situated 800 feet in the natural rock face overlooking the reserve is a truly unique experience. Directly before the lodge lies the Ulusaba Dam, allowing guests to view african wildlife drinking at the waters edge. This breathtaking lodge, offers guests the ultimate in luxury and service excellence - from the fabulous Pan-African décor evident throughout the lodge and the gardens to the swimming pool with cascading waterfall. | Facilities Facilities at the lodge include a fully equipped gymnasium, outdoor pool and sundeck, Aroma Boma Beauty Treatment Centre with qualified Virgin Touch beautician (treatments charged as extra), qualified chiropractor specialising in deep tissue chiropractic massage and acupuncture, 2 tennis courts & viewing pavilion (rackets and balls supplied), board games, childrens' books and games, binoculars, library, introductory talks on animals, birds and conservation, laundry service and baby sitting. | Accommodation 4 rock rooms, 4 cliff rooms and a stand alone split level master suite
Here you will find spectacular panoramic views over miles of bush, the wildlife roaming within, the beauty of the lowveld (bushy glassland plain) below, all set against a backdrop of the Drakensberg Moutain range far in the distance. The Rock Suite which comprises of two bedrooms, each with en-suite, is ideal for families. All rooms & suites have airconditioning and fans. | Family Children over the age of 6 are able to participate in game drives, but unfortunately children under the age of 12 are not able to participate in safari walks. Infants (children younger than 6) are not able to participate in the regular game viewing schedule however there is a Kids Programme complete with an Ulusaba Activity Book, games, books and a kids club to join when they leave. Baby-sitting is available at no extra cost.
As with any guest, special food and beverage requests can be accommodated, however advance notice is needed to guarantee meeting any request. Simple snacks and light meals for children such as sandwiches, can be prepared at the lodge on request.
