Limpopo travel info

This region in the northern part of South Africa is found wedged between the Kruger National Park in the East, Botswana in the West and borders Zimbabwe in the North.
For anyone travelling north from Pretoria along what has been known to generations of explorers, hunters and missionaries as The Great North Road, you find yourself travelling through attractive Bushveld and open Savannah veld, across mystic and majestic mountain ranges. And the further north you travel the more you have the feeling of being in true Africa, following the footsteps of David Livingstone and other great explorers. Vegetation changes as you travel and open savannah and bushveld gives way to Mopane veld and gigantic Baobab trees. The Northern Province has many attractions for the tourist and whatever interest, be it historical places, wildlife reserves, local culture or collecting curios, you will find it in this province. A land of forests, lakes, waterfalls, a place of legends and myths, the land of Modjadji the mysterious Rain Queen - a most interesting and enjoyable part of South Africa. Places of interest for the visiting tourist are various mineral springs, the Hangklip Forest Reserve near Louis Trichardt and the Albasini Dam named after the pioneering elephant hunter and trader Joao Albasini, a paradise for water sport enthusiasts.
