Mombasa travel info Mombasa is situated on Kenya's south east coast - 497km from Nairobi. With a population of half a million, the largest port in East Africa and beautiful beaches and coral reefs - Mombasa is a popular tourist spot. Besides the beaches and coastal activities, tourist attractions include the Gedi Ruins, Mombasa Tusks, Fort Jesus and the Old Town.
