Mombasa travel info

Mombasa is situated on Kenya's south east coast - 497km from Nairobi. With a population of half a million, the largest port in East Africa and beautiful beaches and coral reefs - Mombasa is a popular tourist spot. The climate is tropical with temperatures varying from low 20's to high 30 degrees celcius. The major airport in Mombasa is Moi International.

Besides the beaches and coastal activities, tourist attractions include the Gedi Ruins, Mombasa Tusks, Fort Jesus and the Old Town. Shopping is also a popular past time too and local hand-crafted items and souvenirs can be bought in the city as well as on the beachfront from tourist shops and local vendors.
