National Parks travel info Africa's National Parksa include some of the world's most fascinating reserves - and each park has something uniquely mind-boggling on offer - the gorillas and chimpanzees in Uganda's Ruwenzori and Bwindi National Parks, the mass migrations of millions of wildebeest in Tanzania's Serengeti National Park, bushwalks in Zambia's wild Luangwa National Park, the colourful cichlids of Lake Malawi, the tremendous elephant herds in Botswana's Chobe National Park or the immense wildlife diversity of the Kruger National Park in South Africa - these areas are sure to enthrall and enchant any nature lover.
Some countries - notably South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe are establishing Transfrontier Parks - or Peace Parks - that aim to address conservation at a trans-national level. These areas allow herds greater movement in view of ever encroaching human populations, while also encouraging peace, economic stability and community development. The most notable of these parks include the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park between Botswana and South Africa, the Maloti- Drakensberg Transfrontier Park between South Africa and Lesotho and the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park between South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
