Welgevonden travel info Welgevonden has been restocked with all the major game species, and is a showcase of modern conservation practises. Game fences between Welgevonden and the Marakele National Park were recently taken down, allowing the game increased freedom of movement and access to resources. The area comprises an astonishing diversity of habitats, including riverine scrub, woodland, grassland and green lush valleys with rivers and streams. The game has trebled since 1994, when the first elephants and other game were reintroduced.
Seasons The best time to go is during warm, dry winter days from Apr-Sep, as game viewing is facilitated by less dense vegetation.
