Guestbook |
Once guests return from their holiday, we ask them to comment on their stay, based on our operator selection criteria :
How qualified were your guides to interpret the local fauna and flora? Morne is the most experienced and knowledgeable ranger we have had in over 5 years of holidays in SA private game parks. He had a wealth of knowledge that he shared tirelessly - including his expertise in photography and astronomy. To what extent do you feel the environment was considered in planning the activies/designing and constructing the facilities? The impact has been minimised and the elephants were certainly comfortable in and around the camp so I would say it has been sympathetically designed. The electricity was welcomed in the heat but it did spoil the wild experience somewhat. Did you get the impression that your hosts were involved in environmental research, conservation projects or community development initiatives? I can't comment on whether the lodge was involved, but Morne was definitely abreast on most of the key environmental issues of the moment. We were not informed of any specific activities but then we never asked!
